The annual MAINE LAKES CONFERENCE is the main event for individuals and lake associations who want to expand and communicate their strategies and actions to protect and preserve the benefits of their lake. Maine Lakes has more than 120 lake association members, and these organizations send representatives to our full day forum every year.
This year our Keynote Speaker, Lisa Borre, a contributing writer to National Geographic, will talk about how climate change is affecting lakes worldwide. We’ll also have an array of talks and presentations on how individuals and lake groups can protect our lakes and time for lake leaders to network with each other and experts. A trip to the new Lakes Research Center in Bridgton will be on offer, too. There will also be an art show with the work of local Maine artists on display, and you will have the chance to purchase their work.
Family activities will include paddle boarding, kayaking, use of a rock climbing wall, boater safety, trips on the Melinda Ann, instructions for kids on how to fish, Eyes on the Water invasive plant identification, geocaching, a toddler pool, introductions to nature journaling and photography, and much, much more!
Your family won’t want to miss this amazing day of learning and fun. Have a fun day with friends and family as we come together to Stand Up for Maine’s Lakes!
